Theme P (Pretty Poetry) - 09-01-03
Ok, another love song, right? Suuuuuuure. The concept here, lyricallly,
is that someone has seen my wife Devon's poetry on the net and is asking
her out. Anyhoo, I got this pretty much right as I intended it. I was
going for a sort of Type O Negative / Danzig type thing. Except, no electric
guitars, so, synth it is. I played the music all by hand and then sped
it up and sang, then slowed it back down. Actually, I wrote it lower and
slower than it is, but it sounded too slow. So this is faster than intended.
*Remastered 06-09-08 - I also was so fascinated by the
sound of the non-slowed down version of the song, with my voice sounding
like the real me. Here it is as a bonus!

Lyrics:
Your verses captured my attention
Up on that wax-work website
Their beauty goes beyond all mention
So I thought if you're free tonight
Perhaps you'd like to go out with me
I promise we'll have a good time
I been perusing your pretty poetry
And I been pondering if you'll be mine
I like the one about cutting people open
Its composition was tight
I wrote a similar one about a rope, and
I'll read it to you when the time is right
Perhaps you'd like to go out with me
I promise we'll have a good time
I been perusing your pretty poetry
And pondering if you'll be mine
I promise you I will bring you flowers
Dance with you in the starlight
You've entertained me on the internet for hours
And I'll repay you if it takes all night, so
Perhaps you'd like to go out with me
I promise we'll have a good time
I been perusing your pretty poetry
And pondering if you'll be mine
Please be mine |
